Overview

The Child Care Competency Assessment (CCA) asks random questions from the minimum standards, rules, and regulations as well as from personal skills such as communication, organization, and time management. There are a total of 37 skills assessed and these evaluate the following 8 competencies:

• Facilities Management
• Classroom Management
• Student Development
• Efficiency
• Self Perception
• Collaboration
• Productivity
• Interpersonal Communication

Each question on the Child Care Competency Assessment deals with one of the 37 identified skills. The assessment helps Center Management identify gaps and quickly fill these with recommended training.

To increase the performance and productivity of child care center staff by identifying their competency gaps and improving these through targeted training.
