This course is designed to help teachers, family members, or any individual interested in knowing about autism. It aims to answer some basic questions such as:

• What is autism?
• What are the signs and symptoms of autism?
• What causes autism?
• Can it be treated?
• What is the most appropriate school setting?
• What services and resources are available for them?

Whether you are a parent, a family member, an educator, or a community member, you too can make a difference in the life of anyone affected by autism.  You can stay abreast of current issues, join advocacy groups, or at best seek to be sensitive and patient with any autistic person around you who thinks and learns differently.
