Access skills with ease

The Understand Your Learning Style Assessment is taken from research conducted by Richard M. Felder and Barbara A. Soloman from North Carolina State University. According to their study, learning styles are separated into four categories with learning preferences falling somewhere between the two dimensions:

1. Active/Reflective

2. Sensing/Intuitive

3. Visual/Verbal

4. Sequential/Global

In each category, a balance between the two dimensions is ideal. If you have a moderate preference for one dimension over the other, you will learn more easily in a teaching environment that favors that dimension. If you have a very strong preference for one dimension over the other, you may have difficulty learning in an environment that does not support that preference.

By giving learners a method of determining their learning style preferences, we will provide tools whereby learners can help themselves in the learning process.
